Denise Anstey of Bristol won the British Female Inventor of the Year 2009 title with her invention, Slik Stik.
Denise Anstey, a disabled lady who was dissatisfied with the poor ergonomics and basic function of conventional walking sticks came up with the idea with this stick that folds for convenient storage and portability, whilst maintaining a firm and rigid support when extended. A four - position stem adjusts easily to your preferred height while the comfortable and well designed hand grip has a rubberised non-slip coating.....more

Perth womans energy monitoring device wins Female Inventor of the Year Award in Cardiff.
Perth inventor Tanya Ewing, 39, took home the top prize as Inventor of the Year at the tenth annual British Female Inventor and

Dr Maire McLoone, inventor
of a product that enhances security mechanisms to
protect the public from cyber criminals, such as hackers
and identifies thieves, beat off strong competition
from other contenders to win the top prize in the
British Female Inventors & Innovators Awards 2007

The British Female Inventor
and Innovator of the Year Award (BFIIN), is
an annual award that aims to recognise and
promote the success stories of women in the
UK that have come through the challenges of
turning an idea into reality.
BFIIN has gone from
strength to strength and is now recognised
as a key diary date for women with an interest
in copyright, trademarks, patents, intellectual
property and brillant new ideas.
Over the past seven
years the event has showcased many remarkable
and innovative products and previous winners
have gone on to establish successful businesses
and achieve global recognition.
These include
Mandy Haberman,
inventor of the Haberman Feeder and the Anywayup
Cup, Tish Fearn, who has signed a major distribution
deal with B&Q for her Lite-Lift equine and
gardening tools, and Dr Dawn Gibbins
MBE, named Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of
the Year 2004. more

the Female Invent Awards & Conference
is run by Global Women Inventors &
Innovators Network (GWIIN) the international
network which aims to increase the number
